Entrance area redesign and refurbishment at the Glatt Shopping Centre

After completely redesigning and refurbishing the entrance area at the Glatt Shopping Center, our customer asked us to design, obtain and install a height-adjustable suspension system for the new air curtain at the city entrance. Our job was to enable the air curtain, which was provided by RELAG GmbH, to be adjustable in height up to 1.1 meters, using a dual chain hoist. During the cold winter days, our customer wanted to be able to lower the air curtain in the Glatt Shopping Center by 1.1 meters, in order to reduce the size of the entrance area and therefore the extent of the draft entering the shopping center. As a result, a lot of heat and energy was saved.

In the picture you can see a snapshot during the installation. The air curtain was attached to a massive metal frame, which could be lowered and lifted by means of the dual chain hoist.
